I always knew I wanted to work with animals I just didn’t know in what form it would take. I’ve had pets my whole life and always felt a deep affection for the well being of my animals and all others. I was an animal activist at a very young age and still participate in being a voice for these little creatures. I was a kindergarten teacher for 5 years, and then a restaurant manager for 12 years. All the while knowing my true desire was to take care of animals. Almost 4 years ago I got laid off from my hotel job in Manhattan, and I knew that was the perfect time to start the ground work for By My Side Pet Sitting. The main reason I began this business was because I have a now 15 year old Himalayan cat named Monte. Monte went blind at age 5 and needed eye drops 4-5 times daily for years. I found it almost impossible to get reliable pet care for him while I was at work. I knew there was a great hole in this business and I wanted to fill it. I wanted to be the best, most reliable, safe, honest, caring pet sitter there was because that is what I wanted and needed for my Monte. I have recently relocated to Bethesda Maryland with Monte, where I have rebuilt my business and I’m proud to say I am living my dream job and I wake up everyday looking forward to seeing all my lovely pups and kitties. There is nothing more wonderful then being greeted with an abundance of love each day.
